In accordance with the NSBA Bylaws, all members are encouraged and welcome to attend. Members are defined as parents/guardians with players registered and played in the NSBA for the 2024 Spring Season. This meeting is not open to the public or non-members.
Voting:
Members in good standing will have one vote at the meeting. Voting by proxy is not permitted.
The agenda is as follows:
- Call to Order.
- Approval of the 2024 AGM Agenda.
- Approval of the 2023 AGM Minutes.
- Reports (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Registrar).
- Other Business/Reports NOT Requiring a Special Meeting.
- Election of Directors.
- Draw for one free registration.
- Adjournment.
The Bylaws stipulate that the membership will elect a minimum of six (6) Directors. At the AGM, attending members may also vote to increase the number of Directors beyond this amount. The current Board is recommending ten (10) Directors including the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for the upcoming year.
We elect all our roles each year, so the following are the positions:
- President: (OPEN)
- Past President: Nicholas Van Dyk (will help the new president to transition over for the first year)
- Vice President: Oliver Brett (running)
- 2nd Vice President: Dave Shera (incumbent running again)
- Treasurer: Jen Beasley (running)
- Secretary: Kara Lavers (running)
- Registrar: Kyle Johnson (incumbent running again)
- Directors at Large:
- Clara Cheong (Division Coordinator)
- Pat Ames (Charitable Cause Fundraising, 18U Equipment)
- Brian Beasley (TBD)
- Melissa Jones (TBD)

We continue to seek interested volunteers to help out with other important volunteer roles. Examples include:
- Division Coordinators – team formation, tryouts/evaluations, scheduling (with executive help!)
- Sponsorship Coordinator – finding and supporting major donors to fund existing and new programs, capital upgrades
- Equipment Coordinators (multiple divisions) – arrange equipment and support coaches with accessing gear during season
- Field Maintenance Coordinators (multiple divisions) – monitor field maintenance including equipment, communicate with executive for replacements / repairs
- Opening Day or Jamboree Coordinators – these are large, visible events with lots of fun activities for our members. If you have event planning experience and want to help out please let us know!
- Umpire Scheduler – scheduling of junior umpires to games (15U AA and below)
Note: Attendees will be entered into a draw for one free registration.
