As we will be tight for time, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time. Proceed to check-in your child and collect a numbered pinnie. Have your child stretch their arms after check-in and be ready to go at their assigned time.

Attire: baseball hat, shirt and pants (no shorts)

Equipment: glove, helmet and bat (if you have one)

Evaluation Day:

The evaluation day will consist of four stations:

  1. Fielding
  2. Pitching
  3. Fly Balls
  4. Hitting

Each station will last 10 minutes, for a total evaluations time per group of 40 minutes. Upon completion of all four evaluation stations, please ensure your child returns the pinnie and you are free to go. The next group of players will immediately be getting ready to enter as we are very tight for time.

Session times will be as follows:

  • 1:00 PM to 1:40 PM
  • 2:00 PM to 2:40 PM
  • 3:00 PM to 3:40 PM
  • 4:00 PM to 4:40 PM

(Must be cleaned up and exited out of Lions Gate Christian Academy by 5:00 PM).

We have over 100 players in the 11U (Mosquito) division and are very tight on time. Unfortunately, based on gym time and the number of children, we must assign times. The 11U Coordinator will send an email to you letting you know what time your child is scheduled to be evaluated. If you are unsure of your child’s evaluation time, please contact the 11U Coordinator. We will not be able to accommodate any change requests. If your child is unable to attend this session, they will score zero on the evaluation, however they will still be placed on a team.

Why do we have an Evaluation and the Process:

For those that are new to this division, this is a single tier division and teams will be formed based on a draft. Coaches will pick players for their teams and will rely on the results from the evaluation and their knowledge of the players. At this level, team balance becomes very important so friend requests are phased out.

Following the evaluation the coaches will meet for the draft.  At the draft, each coach will pull a number from a hat (1-9).  This will be the order in which they pick a player.  We will keep going around picking players until every 11U (Mosquito) player has been selected for a team.  This system eliminates any pre-picking of teams and allows for a fair “transparent” baseball season.
