The BC Baseball Umpires Association (BCBUA), in collaboration with North Shore Baseball Association (NSBA), has confirmed the dates for its 2020 Umpire Clinics. We will be offering Level 1 and Level 2 (Defense) clinics on February 8, 2020. This clinic is mandatory for anyone who would like to officiate BC (Minor) Baseball games this year. Previous or current Little League umpires are welcome to attend.
In order to register for a clinic, you must sign up on the BCBUA website (https://bcbua.ca) and pay an annual membership fee which is determined by your age. NSBA will reimburse the membership fees for any umpires who complete at least 5 assignments in 2020. Keep in mind that you must be at least one age-group older than the games you will be calling (for example, 18U (Midget) aged or older umpires will be assigned to 15U (Bantam) games, etc.). Umpiring is a flexible way to earn money for youth umpires and is a great option for both youth and adults to stay involved in the game.
If the February 8, 2020 date doesn’t work for you, there are numerous other clinic dates available in the Lower Mainland via the BCBUA website.
