North Shore Baseball Association is Seeking a Treasurer for the 2024 Season

Our Treasurer, Sally, has decided for personal reasons to step back from the role for the coming season. She has been a significant contributor to the league almost from its founding and will remain involved especially with our youngest divisions.

This means that we need to get a new treasurer! This is an elected volunteer role and a director of the league. If you are interested, please contact our president at president@northshorebaseball.ca to learn more. Additional details about the role follow.

Treasurer Position:

This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who wants to make a significant contribution to the success of the association. The Treasurer is part of our executive committee and so has a voice in division structure, coach selection and team formation, in committee with the other executives. In addition, they have the following responsibilities as defined by the job description below:

Monthly:

  • Attend in person or Zoom monthly Executive meetings to discuss the Associations topics (3rd Wednesday of the month at 7PM).
  • Attend in person or Zoom monthly Board meeting to update the board members on budget.
  • Vote on changes to policy, expenditures and contribute new Ideas.
  • Prepare cheques after approval of payment from relevant director, ensuring all cheques are signed by you and the President.
  • Make regular deposits. Keep books up to date, prepare regular financial statements, and report to the board. Monitor receipts and payments against the budget.
  • Pick up Associations mail (UPS Lonsdale).
  • Provide refunds using online Moneris Platform.

Annually:

  • Prepare budget.
  • Prepare the Gaming Summary Report and provide to the Grant writer.
  • Attend the AGM (November).

Summary:

The North Shore Baseball Association is looking for a new Treasurer. The person applying for this position, should have a background in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance. This position will take approximately 5 hours per month on off Season and 10 hours per month during the Spring Season. We are looking for a two year commitment, with a trial period working with past Treasurer. Ideally we would like the new candidate to start training immediately and be officially voted in during the AGM.
