The 3rd annual North Shore Baseball Association Opening Day Ceremony is set for Sunday, April 7, 2019.
Opening Day Ceremony Details:
Date: Sunday, April 7, 2019
Time: 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Location: Chris Zuehlke Memorial Park
As part of the Opening Day Ceremony, we request that all NSBA players, coaches, and managers arrive at Chris Zuehlke Memorial Park area and meet up with their team no later than 11:30 AM.
At 11:40 AM all NSBA players (with coaches/managers) will gather outside the Chris Zuehlke outfield fence based on their respective age division with their specific team. SEE link or image below showing each age division’s gathering location. In addition, signs for each age division’s gathering location will be posted on site.
Then, the NSBA players/coaches/managers will parade onto Chris Zuehlke Field led by the 5U (Blast Ball) Division players/coaches/managers and followed by each successive Division by age (7U, 9U, 11U….). Don’t be late for the player parade onto Chris Zuehlke Field!
The Opening Ceremony will include: 1. Welcome Message; 2. National Anthem; 3. Dignitary speeches; 4. Official First Pitch by dignitaries; 5. Amazing 5U (Blast Ball) players’ base race around the bases! Get your cameras ready!; 6. 50/50 Draw and a money bat draw; and 7. Thank you and ending of the ceremony.
In addition to the Opening Day Ceremony, the following great events will be happening:
- Opening Day Family Fun Zone
Bring your entire family! From 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM we will have:
- Three (3) bouncy castles;
- Scruffles the Clown with amazing balloons;
- Professional face painter;
- BBQ grill and concession stand (with 2 payment lines for faster service – cash and credit);
- 50/50 draw and a loonie money bat draw during the Opening Ceremony;
- Special appearance from Bob Brown Bear from the Vancouver Canadians!
- Team Photos with free hotdog/burger, chips and juice for all players
- 13U (PeeWee) Games
Following the Opening Ceremony, two (2) NSBA 13U (PeeWee) Division games will be played at Chris Zuehlke Field.

Note: For those that are driving, parking will be challenging with so many people, so please allow a few extra minutes to walk from your car to the field.
