It has been brought to our attention that USA Baseball has changed its allowable bat specifications which take effect on January 1, 2018. This change will impact players in the United States who are 14 years of age and younger. It is not known as of yet whether Baseball Canada will adopt these changes which we understand relate to the reduction of a bat’s maximum “BPF” (Bat Performance Factor) from 1.15 to 0.5. The NSBA is making inquiries to determine whether these changes will apply to BC (Minor) Baseball and we will communicate those to you as soon as that information is available. In the mean time, we would encourage you to delay any decisions to purchase new bats for your players until further clarification is received.
