Hello NSBA Coaches,
My name is Chris Vaillancourt, and I am the Coach Development Coordinator for the NSBA. Coach Certification is being enforced by BC Minor Baseball this year. Certification status is important for active coaches at the 11U, 13U, 15U, and 18U levels. I am going to outline where to find the requirements and how to get started in this email, and if you have any questions about those requirements or how to achieve them you can send your questions directly to me.
Getting Started:
Create an account (or login to your existing account) at https://nccp.baseball.ca/
Once you have an account, your Status tab on the site is the best resource to see what you have and what you need for each level. Levels are broken down age groups, 11U, 13U etc, making it very easy to understand your current status.
The Clinics tab will show you completed and upcoming clinics available to register for through the site.
2023 Enforced Requirements:
- 11U Head Coach Trained
- 13U Head Coach Certified
- 13U Asst. Coach Trained
- 15U Head Coach Certified
- 15U Asst. Coach Trained
- 16+ Head Coach Certified
- 16+ Asst. Coach Trained
Every required course is being offered in April and can be registered through the https://nccp.baseball.ca site. Coaches will need to pay for these courses and submit receipts to me in order to be reimbursed from NSBA.
In May, every required course is being offered by BC Minor Baseball at least once at no charge. The registration is a little more confusing as you need both an NCCP and BC Minor SportsEngine account, but basically goes as follows:
- Register for an NCCP account at https://nccp.baseball.ca if you don’t already have one. This will get you your coach NCCP #.
- Register through the BC Minor Baseball website by clicking on this link https://bcminorbaseball.sportngin.com/register/form/531922196 You will need to create an account here if you don’t already have one.
Once you get in, you will need to enter your NCCP number in the registration form and when you are selecting courses, select the $0 “Member Association Coach” option for the dates you are registering.
