Dear NSBA Families:
Our sincere thanks for your patience as we navigate the dynamics of the pandemic and the impact it has had on baseball for the 2020 season. The NSBA is run entirely by a small group of dedicated volunteers. Our season was suspended as we were about to begin – most teams had been formed and many of our purchases such as uniforms and equipment had been made. Since this time, many of our board members have also been working long hours in first responder, health care or other essential services so we have been somewhat limited in terms of our available time for activities such as board meetings and drafting communications.
Although not definitive, the information that was announced in the media over the last 24-48 hours from the Provincial Health Officer and BC Premier John Horgan has given us more hope than before that there may be baseball activities starting in June or July. Sports such as baseball have been provided the opportunity to submit safety plans/proposals for consideration in order to allow for play to resume this season, we’re hoping to hear back soon.
The goal of the NSBA is to maintain as much of the original structure as possible but this will depend on the parameters we are provided with if play resumes. Many of our families have asked us to do all we can to pursue the ability to run a season over the summer months (subject to the necessary approvals of course). Please know we are doing everything we can to put the NSBA in the best position possible for safe play to resume this year.
At this point we would encourage you to remain registered in the 2020 season. This will ensure your player is eligible to play should the season resume as it is unlikely we will have the time or resources to reopen registration again this season. By using the link listed below, you will be provided with four options:
- Stay registered in the 2020 season
- Defer your 2020 registration fee as a credit for the 2021 season (registration for the 2021 Spring Season will begin in November 2020)
- Donate some or all of your 2020 registration fee (balance of reg fee will be refunded) to NSBA to assist with expenses already incurred for the 2020 season prior to the suspension of play
- Receive a Full Refund
