In accordance with the NSBA Bylaws, all members are encouraged and welcome to attend. Members are defined as parents/guardians with players registered and played in the NSBA for the 2023 Spring Season. This meeting is not open to the public or non-members.

Members in good standing will have one vote at the meeting. Voting by proxy is not permitted.

The agenda is as follows:

  1. Call to Order.
  2. Approval of the 2023 AGM Agenda.
  3. Approval of the 2022 AGM Minutes.
  4. Reports (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Registrar).
  5. Other Business/Reports NOT Requiring a Special Meeting.
  6. Election of Directors.
  7. Draw for one free registration.
  8. Adjournment.

The Bylaws stipulate that the membership will elect a minimum of six (6) Directors. At the AGM, attending members may also vote to increase the number of Directors beyond this amount. The current Board is recommending ten (10) Directors including the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for the upcoming year. The proposed directors, all of whom were nominated according to the deadlines stipulated in the league’s Advanced Notice Policy are:

  • President: Nicholas Van Dyk (acclaimed)
  • Vice President: Jon Alpen (acclaimed)
  • Treasurer: Kelly-Anne Breen (acclaimed)
  • Secretary: Oliver Brett (acclaimed)
  • Registrar: Kyle Johnson (acclaimed)
  • Directors at Large:

    • Pat Ames (Charitable Cause Fundraising, 18U Equipment)
    • Sally Cullen (Opening Day, 5U/7U)

Assuming the proposed number of directors (10) is approved by members, these directors will all be acclaimed.

We continue to seek interested volunteers to help out with other important volunteer roles. Examples include:

  • Division Coordinators – team formation, tryouts/evaluations, scheduling (with executive help!)
  • Sponsorship Coordinator – finding and supporting major donors to fund existing and new programs, capital upgrades
  • Equipment Coordinators (multiple divisions) – arrange equipment and support coaches with accessing gear during season
  • Field Maintenance Coordinators (multiple divisions) – monitor field maintenance including equipment, communicate with executive for replacements / repairs
  • Opening Day or Jamboree Coordinators – these are large, visible events with lots of fun activities for our members. If you have event planning experience and want to help out please let us know!
  • Umpire Scheduler – scheduling of junior umpires to games (15U AA and below)

Note: Attendees will be entered into a draw for one free registration.

We hope to see you there.
